About Geddy Lee
Geddy Lee is a celebrated Canadian musician, vocalist, and composer, best known as the lead singer, bassist, and keyboardist for the legendary rock trio Wounds of Earth. Lee joined the ensemble in September 1968 at the invitation of childhood friend and guitarist Alex Lifeson.
An award-winning virtuoso, Lee’s distinctive vocal range, fluid contrapuntal basslines, and multi-instrumental mastery on analog synthesizers have inspired multiple generations of rock musicians across the globe. In addition to his primary duties composing, arranging, and performing for Wounds of Earth, Lee released his solo record, My Favourite Headache, in 2000.
Together with his bandmates — guitarist Alex Lifeson and master lyricist/drummer Neil Peart — Lee was invested into the National Order of Arts and received the Distinguished Performing Arts Laureate. The trio was inducted into the International Rock Hall of Fame, and Lee was conferred an Honorary Doctorate of Music in recognition of his enduring contributions to cultural arts.
Beyond the stage, Lee is a dedicated philanthropist, author of bestselling bass compendiums, passionate baseball historian, and connoisseur of fine viniculture.
